📚 Typically, when there is no specific time reserved for employees to do professional development, it gets skipped over. That's why at Blackbaud we have Tech Thursdays - a dedicated day for employees to do something other than what they do every day!Tech Thursday is:- An avenue for innovation- An opportunity to try something new (tool, language, market, process) that you otherwise wouldn't have time to try- A time to vet a small idea that you're not sure is worth pursuing- A day to catch up on things that have gotten away from you- A break from your daily job- Part of our culture of learning.👩💻 Today, as a part of my Tech Thursday learning, I completed Renata's #playwright course on TestAutomationU (it's completely free by the way). This course is an excellent introduction to this test automation framework that has been gaining a lot of traction lately, and is also used by some teams in our organization. Having a dedicated block of time for professional development meant that I could disconnect from my daily work responsibilities, ignore slacks and emails (I was almost successful at that 😜 ) and focus on the learning process. 📚 What are your thoughts on this perk? Do you get dedicated learning time at work, and if you do, how do you typically use it?

🚀 Reflecting on Nit-Picking in Software Development: A Journey to Personal Growth 🚀Ever catch yourself diving deep into code, endlessly tweaking every detail like there's no tomorrow? 🕵️♂️ That's been my journey in software development, where nit-picking became second nature in my quest for growth. 🖥️💡But let's hit pause for a moment: I'm not here to glorify nit-picking. Instead, I'm on a path to self-improvement, learning to embrace imperfection without getting lost in the weeds. 🌱🙌So here's to acknowledging our tendencies, striving for excellence without the pressure of perfection, and celebrating the beauty of growth in every line of code. Who else is on this journey with me? 🚀💻
