There is no such thing as too many restaurants because no one gets tired of eating. To add more variety to the area, Myrtle Beach has 15 new restaurants in 2024, some that are expected to open soon, and others that opened toward the end of 2023. The list ranges from cafes to seafood restaurants, places for date nights to ice cream parlors. You’ll want to have as many of these spots on your list as possible during your next trip.
1. VooDoo Brewing Co
Murrells Inlet’s latest brewhouse is Voodoo Brewing Co. Established in October of 2023, this place serves homemade craft beers with funky names and logos for visitors to have a fun time. They have ‘Good Vibes’, ‘Lacto-Kooler’, ‘Oh Mama’, ‘Voodoo Love Child’, and ‘Where Our Secrets Go’, among others. Voodoo has its regular yearly selection, but it also serves seasonal flavors that range from light to dark and change every few months. The brewery also has classic beer food such as chicken wings, homemade pizza, burgers, and their classic ‘Black Pepper and Garlic Mussels’ cooked in their American lager or the ‘Blue Cheese and Bacon Mussels’ doused in the ‘Where Our Secrets Go’ imperial stout.
2. Whiskey Roots Bar & Grill
Inviting guests to submerge into the flavors of the South, Whiskey Roots is ready to serve and have fun. Located on North Kings Highway, Whisky Roots prepares classic dishes with a unique twist to differentiate itself from other restaurants. The signature WR burger is an eight-ounce patty decorated with BBQ whisky sauce, pineapple, bacon, cheddar cheese, mushrooms, onion rings, red onion, lettuce, and tomato. Other dishes include a meatloaf sandwich, shrimp and grits with mango habanero remoulade, low country boil, and classic southern desserts like pecan pie and upside-down cake. In addition to the food, if you didn’t already guess, the restaurant serves various forms of whisky including bourbon, scotch, Canadian, and Irish. Whisky Roots opened in May of 2023, and the establishment encourages reservations, but they are not required.

3. Swig & Swine
Freshly opened in February of 2024, Swig & Swine has been “Horrifying vegetarians since 2013.” They have all-wood smoked barbeque that’s served with their homemade BBQ sauces. Meat can be bought in half or one-pound increments, or you can order a BBQ sandwich or plate. The meat includes beef brisket, pulled pork, smoked turkey, pork belly, sausage, or chicken. Swig & Swine also has some mouth-watering desserts to eat after devouring a plate of salty goodness. The dessert menu includes banana pudding, chocolate bourbon pecan pie, nutter butter pie, and cobbler coconut pie. If you visit from Monday through Friday, the restaurant offers a discount on a specific dish depending on what day it is, so be sure to check their website before visiting.
4. The Big Chill Island House
Located at Barefoot Landing, the Big Chill Island House is now open and already a local favorite. The restaurant aims to bring a sense of relaxation to its visitors with a large outdoor space and inviting colors that will help connect people with “the Intracoastal and the Carolina coast.” The restaurant's webpage says they will serve seafood, current culinary trends, and classic American dishes. For those who have been to Myrtle Beach before, Big Chill Island House is under the same hospitality group as the Crooked Hammock Brewery.
5. Le Manna Bread
Open daily from 6 a.m. until 9 p.m. in the Arts and Innovation District, Le Manna is Myrtle Beach’s newest bakery serving freshly made, in-house bread and pastries. The business recently opened in February and allows visitors to stop by and enjoy a sandwich from the menu to eat in the shop or pick up a loaf to bring home. Le Manna bakes a variety including focaccia, ciabatta, baguettes, and croissants. In addition to pastries, visitors can order soups, salads, and coffee to pair with their dishes. To add an ambiance to the space, Le Manna has famous artworks on the walls that have a special ‘bread component’ added to them to reference the bakery.
6. Tasting Room on 9th Wine Bar
If you’re searching for a place to visit for a date night while on your vacation in Myrtle, the Tasting Room is what you’re seeking. Bringing upscale wine with downtown vibes, this restaurant opened late spring 2024 in the Art and Innovation District of Myrtle Beach. There is wine, craft cocktails, and international beer to share in the Tasting Room’s lounge. This is the perfect happy hour spot, or if you're looking for tapas style dinner!
7. Mura
Introducing Myrtle Beach’s first conveyor belt food service, Mura serves Asian-inspired small bites. The restaurant opened in February of 2024 in Market Commons. The establishment opens daily at 10 a.m. and stays open into the late evening. How it works is that food is placed on a conveyor belt, and then the visitors pick whatever dish they want that goes in front of them to enjoy a little surprise and try different dishes. Each small plate ranges from $4 to $11 and includes food like Korean fried chicken, bibimbap rice bowls, and chicken katsu sandwiches. To pair with the dishes, guests can enjoy tea-based drinks, cocktails made with Korean liquor soju, or coffees.
8. Mimosa's
Mimosas opened in June of 2023 off Highway 17 on North Kings Highway. The restaurant is a brunch place that’s open daily from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. It has indoor and outdoor seating arrangements with two fully equipped bars. What makes Mimosas unique is its green interior that pops out as soon as you enter the establishment, but also the concoctions that were specially created for the menu. The signature breakfasts include crab and avocado toast along with fried lobster and waffles. Yet, the sweet temptations are the real eye-catcher with crème brulee, croissant, salted caramel banana, and cookie dough stuffed French toast, lemon blueberry goat cheese pancakes, and Mimosa’s orange cream waffle. The restaurant also has a lunch menu and vegetarian options. Of course, this brunch spot also serves specialty cocktails including a range of mimosas such as the classic (orange juice), tropical (mango nectar), Hawaiian (pineapple and rum), and cherry bomb (maraschino cherry juice, pineapple juice).
9. Neal's Creekhouse
A Surfside favorite is expanding in March of 2024 to Murrells Inlet in hopes of sharing more good vibes and Southern food. Neal’s Creekhouse is open seven days a week and is available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so you can visit any time of day. The official website has not yet launched for this location, however, the menu will consist of classics from the establishment's first location, as well as new and exciting additions. You can expect the food to be southern, serving seafood platters, and classic Carolinian appetizers like fried green tomatoes and fried oysters, along with a fully equipped bar to drink while you eat.
10. Gio's Pizzeria Napoletana
Gios first made its appearance in 2014 when it opened its restaurant ‘Italian Kitchen’ off Kings Highway. The restaurant is family-owned, two brothers run the kitchen while the sister runs the front of the house. The family, Hoxha, are Albanian natives who moved to the United States in 2003, bringing their cooking skills with them. Gios recently opened a second location in the Market Commons district called Pizzeria Napoletana. The staff pride themselves on their marinara sauce and always providing guests with the highest quality food. Unlike the first location, the pizzeria has an emphasis on pizza featuring ones with all kinds of toppings starting from the traditional Margherita pie to specialty crafted ones. The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 p.m. until 8 p.m.
11. CK Bistro
Bringing more fine dining, CK Bistro held its grand opening in late spring in Market Commons. The restaurant aims to bring diversity and creativity to both tourists and locals in the Myrtle Beach area. They have live music, happy hour, a bar, and specially crafted dishes for visitors to relish. The menu consists of bites like steak, seafood, handhelds, and a signature risotto dish. CK plans to source everything fresh and locally, not only to promote sustainability but also to support local farmers.
12. Maple Street Biscuit Company
Maple Street just opened its 64th location nationwide this past February. This chain, which is owned by the widely known Cracker Barrel, has been on the rise for years. Its first location in South Carolina was Greenville, then Charleston, and it finally made its way to Myrtle Beach. Open daily from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m., Maple Street serves some of the best biscuits around, after all, it was voted in 2016 as a ‘Guilty Pleasure’ on the Food Network. The menu includes specialty biscuits like the Five & Dime (fried chicken, bacon, cheddar, egg, sausage, or shitake gravy), The Iron Goat (goat cheese and sauteed spinach), and the Squawking Goat (fried chicken, goat cheese medallion, and pepper jelly). Maple Street also serves classic biscuits, breakfast bowls, and sweet treats.
13. The Crazy Mason
What used to be in the Market Commons is now in a new location outside the Coastal Grand Mall. The Crazy Mason is a milkshake bar that has figured out a way to combine three of your favorite desserts into one jar. There are hundreds of options that you can choose, so you’ll never get bored of going back and trying something new. Crazy Mason is open daily from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. The establishment has monthly specialties, but the usual list consists of shakes like Build Me Up Buttercup (vanilla ice cream with Reese’s Pieces, Reese’s peanut butter cups, and whipped cream), But First, Coffee (coffee ice cream with marshmallow sauce, cookie dirt, a glazed donut, and whipped cream), and They Do Exist (cotton candy ice cream with buttercream frosting, unicorn cake, cotton candy, and a rock candy stick). If you dare to try The Crazy Mason, make sure your sweet tooth is ready!
14. Neptune Bistro & Raw Bar
Neptune is the newest addition to the Marshwalk’s collection of restaurants. Located next to the inlet to offer wonderful views while enjoying your meal, Neptune offers every fresh catch you can think of. The raw bar is the market price of oysters, clams, lobster, king crab, and snow crab. The regular menu consists of flatbreads, tacos, seafood platters, handhelds, and more. The restaurant also has happy hour with selected foods and drinks at a discounted price. Dishes can be paired with specialty cocktails such as a Key Lime Martini, Peach Tea Bourbon (bourbon, house-infused peach tea, and fresh citrus), or Haim Time (vodka, house-made rosemary syrup, and infused lemon ginger tea). Neptune is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m.
15. Stella's Homemade Ice Cream
With two locations, one in Murrells Inlet and the second one in Conway which opened in May of 2023, Stella’s is committed to ensuring their ice cream and other products are made with fresh, rich ingredients. This ice cream parlor makes everything in-house, the ice cream and cakes, which the recipes are said to have been around for decades. The original flavors stay, but others rotate constantly so guests can enjoy something new each time they visit. Some of the ice cream specialties include cosmic brownie, glazed donut, apple pie, cinnamon toast crunch, cookie butter, lucky charms, lemon blueberry cheesecake, and more. Stella’s also makes cakes and bakery items either custom, or you can stop by and pick up what they have in the shop that day.
